Road debris can wreak havoc on your car or truck – chipping away at the paint and devaluing your vehicle.
Now, we have the ultimate rock repellant – known as "clear bra" or paint protection film (PPF). As of this week, Anderson's has it right here at our Ponderay paint and collision repair shop. So now, local customers don’t have to give up a day or a half-tank of gas to drive to Coeur d’Alene for an important maintenance service.

Price varies from $150 to $1600 depending on how much of your vehicle that you want protected. You can apply clear bra "by the part" (such as the front fender and bumper) or a "full package" (back of rearview mirrors, hood, fender and bumper). Believe us, it's worth the investment. Repainting a vehicle after 10+ years runs $12,000 or more, whereas clear bra protection adds an extra 7-10 years to your vehicle which not only saves you money but increases your resale value. That's super important in 2023 as the price of new and used vehicles is not expected to drop much - due to ongoing auto chip and part shortages.
Why here? Why now?
Before 2022, we sent vehicles south for this specialized expertise – towing it as part of a bigger repair covered by insurance. Or, if you wanted PPF alone, customers went to a dealer in Spokane or CDA. Now you can have it done right here at our Ponderay shop.
We're making it easier for you to protect your auto investment. With gas prices and the cost of new cars so high, Anderson’s wants to bring this service closer to home to help extend the life and value of your vehicle due to the ongoing high prices of new trucks, SUVs and cars.
What is PPF?
By far, Paint Protection Film (PPF) is the best way to protect your vehicle. It’s a clear ultra-rugged urethane film that protects vehicles from physical damage like salt, sand, bugs, and road chips, especially those flying up from unpaved back roads. It combines ultimate durability with:
- clarity
- invisibility
- affordability (far less expensive than replacing paint-damaged hoods, bumpers, and fenders!)
- convenience (now that it’s in your backyard!)
Protect your car’s value
Mostly, it’s a smart investment to optimize your resale value and it looks great.
There’s a 100% chance that something will wreck your auto paint here in North Idaho. But there's a 0% chance that EVERY car owner has heard of PPF or afford an entire day away from work or home to hit Coeur d’Alene or Spokane to get their car or rig treated.
Anderson's wants to help change that. Now, we will get you in and out in a day giving you a local, affordable, and convenient experience. Ask for it as:
- part of another self-pay repair
- part of an insurance claim if you’ve been in an accident and PPF must be reapplied to any damaged and repainted panel
- a standpoint service to proactively protect your auto paint
Buy PPF by the part or all-in-one package
Again, you can get your entire front treated in a Gold Package including the hood, bumper, and headlights which are the most vulnerable to stone chips. Or you can request it by the part – say, just the fenders, truck ledge, back of side mirrors, or door cups.
Cleaning your vehicle and repairing damaged paint are super important maintenance practices. But they’re not enough to protect the paint job.
For this reason, you need a certified PPF professional to preserve the car’s paint and protect its value over the next decade using professional materials. They use a computerized kit specially made for the year, make, and model of your car or truck.
What material do we use?
We’re excited to partner with a new, certified, local specialist who uses 3M Scotchgard – ranked #1 again in AutoGuide.com in March 2022. It's a great way to support our local economy.
It’s never too late to add clear bra to protect auto paint from chipping, cracking, or eventually rusting. And if an older vehicle is coming in for repair, it’s a smart idea to get clear bra added on fresh paint before it leaves our shop.
It takes one day as 3M dries quickly. We’ll get you in and out, save on your fuel and protect your investment.
